 As Cartotecnica Postumia we have decided to join the following certification schemes for the accountability of compliant forestry products:
▶ requirements of the FSC standard FSC-STD-40-004 V 3-1;
▶ requirements of the PEFC ST 2002:2020 standard
▶ we are committed to aligning ourselves with the policy for the chain of custody of forest products and specifically:
▶ create a product that, in addition to meeting the implicit and expressed requirements of customers, is made with raw materials that come from properly managed forests, i.e. in compliance with rigorous environmental, social and economic standards marked with the FSC® (FSC-C105014) and PEFC Registered Trademarks;
▶ progressively increase, in regards to the supply of paper, the number of suppliers who adhere to good forest management systems.
Starting from this assumption, we assume responsibility towards our customers with an aim towards continuous improvement.
At Cartotecnica Postumia, in respecting the FSC® (FSC-C105014) values, we declare that we are not directly or indirectly involved in the following activities
a) illegal logging and trade in illegal wood or forest products;
b) violation of traditional human rights and in forestry operations;
c) destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations;
d) significant conversion of forests to plantations or non- forestry uses;
e) introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations;
are of compulsory school age, where the age is higher, are not used,
d) workers are not denied equal work and treatment opportunities,
e) the working conditions do not endanger health and safety.
For many years we have also chosen to use only water-based inks, eliminating any solvent. We also recover all our ink residues internally.
An additional concern is the paper waste linked to the production process. These paper scraps are recovered and sold to local paper mills which in turn produce paper that we can reuse for our shopping bags, keeping with our perspective on circular economy.
Energy
Our energy consumption is of a dual nature:
▶ direct, due to the ink drying printing process, the heating of buildings and the combustion of fuel in company vehicles;
▶ indirect, linked to the electricity purchased.
